Prototypes

Here we find a collection of half-finished games and other prototypes. Some may be precursors to other projects, others may be shriveled husks once filled with promise. Some may even be instructive.

Glorious Klob

Glorious Klob

The Irrefutable Church of Glorious Klob, God of Gods and Also Everything Else, reigns supreme in the great city! Go forth, Fabulous Supreme General Ibo, and slay those who remain loyal to the dead king!

An experimental ASCII wargame where battles are resolved in choose-your-own-adventure form (probably). It will form the basis of future projects, and be used to play-test a combat minigame.

ASCII MOBA

ASCII MOBA

A single-player MOBA, rendered in beautiful ASCII. Help the blue monsters destroy the red monsters' magic crystals. Made during a Game-In-A-Day event.

Text-based Battle Prototype

Text-based Battle Mockups

The Amaranth Saga will eventually need some sort of battle minigame. In this experiment, created with Twine, we look at different ways of presenting battles in text form. Whether this can be made fun remains to be seen.

Maze Movement Experiment

Maze Movement Experiment

Maze is an unfinished action role-playing game. Its combat was meant to be a combination of DROD and Dark Souls, but making the controls feel right was surprisingly difficult. In this experiment, we try rotating the world around the player, auto-aiming, and more.
